In the same way the Western and revisionist Western genre reacted to and against each other, Weird West is an encompassing sub-genre. Published by Devolver Digital, Weird West is a supernatural take on the Wild West, where gunslingers and lawmen. Then, crouch and walk through the hole to enter the secret room. To get to this place, you need to look for statues placed in front of a small hole and move them. The West is, if you think about it, a logical choice for this treatment. Weird West can be as straight forward as outlaw bank robbers to end of the age outlaw tragedies like Red Dead Redemption I/II. The Gun are made up of thieves and murderers, and keep hold of the people by fear and violence, but they are losing the war against the Line. The Weird West is the sister trope, for when The West meets the supernatural. The Line is industrial, with technological weapons and trains that speed by so quickly the countryside is barely seen, and take over towns and make their citizens slaves at their whim. The novel pits two rival factions against one another as they each hunt for a way to end the everlasting war between them. Bone Tomahawk and The Burrowers, horror westerns, similar premises, something is kidnapping settlers. Horror Westerns I never considered The Dark Tower novels to be predominantly Western-influenced. It tells the story of Liv Alverhuysen, a female psychologist who sets off on an adventure to heal the mad and John Creedmoor, an Agent of the Gun who is goaded into obedience to his master's orders, despite his growing disdain for them. I do not know of too many examples in fiction. It is set in an alternate version of the American Wild West where the far west reaches of the world are untamed and still being created.
